Mary Alice Reporting –

The week started off right for the 169th Tuscarawas County Fair in-terms of visitor numbers.

Gates opened Monday and the Sr. Fair Board says they had the highest number of attendees in the past 5 years.

Opening day saw 4,686 people visit the annual event in Dover.

Last year, attendance was down due to heavy rain the first part of the week. In 2017, admission through the gate was just over 4,000.

The Tuscarawas Fair runs until September 22nd.
