(Monday, July 9th) Tuscarawas County, Ohio – An annual voucher program to help Tuscarawas County children opens locations this week for registration.

Dress A Child provides clothing vouchers through money raised by donations to help students in homes that meet the federal poverty guidelines.

Twin City Area Program Co-Chair Diane Rafael explains that the 2018 program is partnering with Kohls and Walmart.

Beginning today, registration is from 10 am until 1 pm at the St. Francis DeSales Church in Newcomerstown. Rafael adds that on Tuesday, interested families can register at Dover’s Grace Lutheran Church Outreach Center between the hours of 10 am and 1 pm, and then again from 5 pm until 7 pm.

“July 10th also is the Twin City area at the First Presbyterian Church from 2:00 in the afternoon till 7:00 in the evening. Then on July 11th, New Philadelphia area registration at Jim’s Place on West High [from] 10 am till 1 pm, and then again from 5 pm until 7 pm.”

Those who are applying must bring a form of ID along with proof of their income, such as a pay stub. Dress A Child is open for any student in kindergarten through 12th grade.

Last year, the program provided $50 vouchers to 1,348 Tuscarawas County children.
