Revitalization Plan Estimated at $7.5 Million

Mary Alice Reporting:

(Thursday, December 7th) Dover, Ohio – Revitalization projects are set to continue in the City of Dover beginning with the completion of the Riverfront project.

As part of the plans, Mayor Richard Homrighausen says the downtown area will see some upgrades, such as new seating areas.

Total cost for the revitalization is estimated around $7.5 million.

“It’ll be done in stages. We’re probably just going to do the gateway by the river and for capital budget dollars, we’re requesting $500,000.”

Mayor Homrighausen adds work continues to develop the riverfront and the city has raised $3.2 million which went for land purchases and property teardowns.

The entire revitalization project is expected to be complete in about five years.
