Rex Dean Heade, 84, of Dennison, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at his daughter’s home. Born June 19, 1933 in Holloway, Ohio, he was a son of the late Norma Jo Dean.
A veteran of the U.S. Army in the early 50s, he was a member and officer of Iron Workers Local #550 who retired from Nuclear Installation Service Co. He was a member of the Moorefield F. & A.M. and attended Freeport United Methodist Church.
On February 23, 1952, he married the former Bettie Ann Kutie with whom he shared nearly 51 years of marriage until her passing on February 14, 2003. They were blessed with a daughter, Linda (Mitchell) Patterson; 3 sons, Stephen Thomas, Kevin Louis and Brian Dean Heade who preceded him in death; grandchildren, Kevin Dean (Julia Donofrio) Heade, Jennifer Katherine Patterson and Samuel Isaac Patterson; and great-grandson, Leo Dean Heade. Rex is also survived by Joseph Hamilton who was like a son to him, along with Joseph’s sons, William and Jesse Hamilton and their families, who were as close as family.
In keeping with Rex’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation. A private, family graveside service is planned at Rock Hill Cemetery in Belmont County where he will be interred with his beloved wife and sons. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Century Harvest Farms Foundation, Rex Heade Memorial Row (“Grandpa’s Row”) which is his granddaughter’s 501(c)(3) organization of which he was very proud.
