Richard Junior Haney, 75, of Canton, formerly of Bolivar, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, after a period of declining health. Born November 3, 1942 in Dover, he was a son of the late Richard Lee and Ethel (Johnson) Haney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Elaine (Martin) Haney; daughter, Kylee Haney; and siblings, Dean Haney, Bob Haney, Oris Haney and Doris Haney.
His surviving family includes his sons, Roger (Tracy) Haney and Chris Haney; grandchildren, Danelle (Trevor) German, Samantha (fiancé, John Wallace) Haney, Elsee Koury and Lydia Koury; great-granddaughter, Mallory German with another expected; siblings, Clara Tomer, Ronnie (Rose) Haney, Theresa (Dave) Gilmore, Suzie (Dave) Betche, and David Haney; and many nieces and nephews.
Richard was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his family. He was a retired truck driver for the local steel industry. In his spare time, he loved to hunt and fish.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation is planned. A memorial service and celebration of his life, officiated by Pastor Peter Price and Dr. Steven A. Gerig, will be held at 1pm on Saturday, February 17, in Bolivar Wesleyan Church.
