Ronnie L. Felton, 75, of Baltic, died Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Oak Pointe Nursing Home in Baltic following a one-year illness.
He was born on November 1, 1942 to the late George and Edith (Freese) Felton and married Shirley Fender on October 4, 1964. She survives.
He retired from General Clay in Baltic and later worked at Steiner Cheese and McDonald’s in Sugarcreek. He was a member of the former Church of the Brethren. He was a member of the Baltic Fire Department for 54 years; having joined on October 18, 1960 and retiring as Chief on January 1, 2014. He was a member of the Ohio Fire Chief’s Association and the Coshocton-Tuscarawas County Fire Chief’s Association.
In addition to his wife, Shirley, he is survived by his daughter, Tammy Weaver of Baltic; 2 grandchildren, Kaley Weaver of Baltic and Brandon Weaver of the home; his two sisters, Deloris (Robert) Raber and Shirley Gerber both of Baltic; and his beloved dog Smokey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Robert Felton and brother-in-law Wayne Gerber.
Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek with Pastor Mark Miller officiating. Burial will follow in West Lawn Cemetery in Baltic.
