Ruth “Ann” Rippel, 89, of Dover died Tuesday, May 22, 2018 in the Community Hospice Truman House.

Born April 26, 1929 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Villa Pearch Rippel. Ann was also preceded in death by a brother, Howard (Ruth) Rippel; sisters, Maxine (Vic) Baker, Polly Rippel and great nephew, Scott Dimmerling.

Ann graduated from Dover High School and worked at Marlite Wall products, retiring in 1973. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Dover. Ann enjoyed cooking, reading, and making crafts, but most of all, she loved her siblings and nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her brother, Richard (Clare Anne) Rippel of Wichita, Kansas; 11 nieces and nephews, Greg (Sue) Baker of Navarre, David (Susan) Rippel of Virginia, Rebecca Rippel of Canton, Mark (Vicki) Baker of Florida, Jill (Roy) Dimmerling of Louisville, Jack (Marie) Rippel of Louisville, Janice (Jim) Dimmerling of East Canton, Polly Ann (Al) Bottomley of Dalton, Debbie (Mark) Brown of Texas, Connie (Sonia Fry) Rippel of Idaho, and Doug (Kim) Rippel of Kansas. She also dearly loved 26 great nieces and nephews and 33 great-great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 25 at 10:30 am in the Maple Grove Cemetery at Dover with Pastor Dotty Hartzell officiating. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover is handling arrangements.
