Ruth E. Fox, 96, of Dover passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Park Village, Assisted Living.
Born December 25, 1921 in Dover, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Lena Zurcher Haswell. Ruth was also preceded in death by her husband, William Fox on October 14, 1962; son, Thomas Fox and sister, Ruby Garman.
During WW II, Ruth was an original “Rosie the Riveter” having worked at Spun Steel in Canton as a Bomb Inspector. She has also worked at Zimmer in Dover, retiring in 1986 after 25 years of service. Ruth loved spending time with her family, especially her grand and great grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and going on bus trips with her friends.
A wonderful and loving mother and grandmother, Ruth is survived by her children, Timothy (Karen) Fox of New Philadelphia, Terry (Michelle) Fox of Dover; daughter in law, Carol Fox of Dover; grandchildren, Deana (Tony) Grasselli, Christian (Michelle) Fox, Deborah Fox, Andrew (Sheila) Fox, Emily (Matt) Altier, Kayleigh (Cody) Habrun; 12 great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 17 at 10:30 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with John Kibler officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park.
