Sentence Handed Down for Midvale Murder

(Monday, September 11th) New Philadelphia, Ohio – An official sentence is made for a 19-year-old found guilty of killing his dad’s girlfriend at their Midvale home.

David Isaacs appeared in court Monday afternoon for sentencing in front of Judge Edward O’Farrell.

At the hearing, several family members of the victim, 39-year-old Darlene Renner, spoke including her sister, mother, father, and uncle.

Isaacs was found guilty after agreeing to a plea agreement on September 5th for the March 2016 murder.

Judge O’Farrell officially sentenced Isaacs to life in prison.

“Based on the agreement reached between the State of Ohio and Mr. Isaacs, a life sentence in the Department of Rehabilitations and Corrections with parole eligibility after 20 years served. The court by supplemental entry allocates the number of local days of credit.”

Under Ohio Law, he will be accredited jail time already served which is around one year.

Isaacs declined to comment during the court proceedings.
