(Monday, December 4th) Wayne County, Ohio – Recent training leads the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office to issue a reminder on the dangers of domestic violence.

Sheriff’s Captain Doug Hunter confirmed the office recently participated in domestic violence training, bringing the issue to light.

“One of the topics that were discussed at length was the topic of strangulation, many people will call this choking,” explained Hunter.

Captain Hunter noted that many of these incidents are never reported.

“If you’re involved in a relationship where your partner is choking you or strangling you, there’s probably not as much love in that relationship as you may think.”

Captain Hunter added that anyone that thinks they may be in an abusive relationship is urged to call the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, anytime.
