Silva Beachy 89 of Berlin died Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at her home following an extended illness. She was born on September 19, 1929 in Millersburg to the late Eli B. Miller and Mary Ann (Hershberger) Miller Hershberger. She provided transportation for Holmes County Training Center for many years, as well as guardianship responsibilities. She and her husband owned and operated the restaurant in Charm for many years, where people would line up early to enjoy her cooking and started a new chapter with her career as loving manager of Helping Hands Quilt Shop in Berlin, which she enjoyed for many years. 

She was a member of Pleasant View Mennonite Church, she was a Sunday School Teacher and Youth Leader for many years. She was married on December 1, 1949 to Noah J. Beachy and he died on December 11, 2015. She is survived by her sons; Randy Beachy of the home and Tim (Sue) Beachy of New Philadelphia; 2 grandson, Jay Beachy of Glenmont and Nick Beachy of Dover; brothers Alvin (Vicki) Hershberger and Wayne (Joann) Hershberger; sister Clara (Ivan) Weaver; sister-in-law Katy Millerand many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her step father Melvin D. Hershberger, brother Roy Miller and sister Anna (John) Detweiler. 

Services will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 11:00 at Pleasant View Mennonite Church with Pastor Walt Morton officiating.  Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.  Friends may call on Friday 5-8 PM and Saturday 10-11 AM all at the Pleasant View Mennonite Church.  Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
