Mary Alice Reporting:
(Friday, December 28th) Dover, Ohio – An Ohio Medical Director was able to see the efficiency of a local health department during a Thursday visit.
Dr. Clint Koenig, Ohio Department of Health’s Medical Director, spoke with Tuscarawas County Health Department staff related to programs and quality improvements.
Health Commissioner Katie Seward explains that the office worked with him in 2017 during local meningitis cases.
“He was relatively new to the Ohio Department of Health but he was a wonderful resource to us and really helped coordinate the response from the state and local level.”
As part of that stopover, Seward notes that Dr. Koenig wanted to hear suggestions and feedback for future collaboration ideas.
“And then he was also here with a complimentary tone in the work that we’ve been doing, which was nice to hear that we’re getting some validation from the state level that we’re doing what we are supposed to be doing to best serve the residents of Tuscarawas County.”
Along with touring the Health Department, he meets with Department Directors as a way to continue the efforts of preventing diseases and protecting the environment.
