Thelma Lillian Skinner – May 25, 2017

Thelma Lillian Skinner, 85, of Wooster, formerly a longtime Twin City resident, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, May 25, 2017, from Westview Healthy Living in Wooster. Born January 28, 1932 in Steubenville, she was a daughter of the late Theodore Painter and Thelma Lillian (Craig) Walker.

On January 22, 1949, Thelma married Wynne Wilbert Skinner who survives her. She is also survived by their daughters, Thelma Jean White, Mary Jane Switzer, Jo Anne (Bill) Staley, Judy Brown and Janet Squires; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jack Skinner in 1989; sisters, Edna Elizabeth Walker and Martha Ann Walker; and a granddaughter, Kristina White.

Thelma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was a deeply devoted woman of faith. She was a member of Highland Church of God while living in Wooster and had previously belonged to Dennison First Church of God. She loved to read the Bible which she did every day.

Services will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, May 30, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 11am to 1pm on Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Highland Church of God, 669 W. High Ave., Wooster, OH  44691.
