Three Adults are in Custody in Connection with a Murder

(Wednesday, September 13th) Newcomerstown, Ohio – Three young adults are in custody for questioning after a 19-year-old murder victim was found in the Village of Newcomerstown.

Police were notified Monday morning around 7:30 that a man was lying in the front yard of a Tuscarawas Avenue home. Newcomerstown Police confirm the gunshot victim is Luke Cabbage of New Philadelphia.

In connection with his death, three men have been taken into custody by the Jefferson and Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Deputies.

Jefferson Sheriff Fred Abdalla confirms 22-year-old Kyle Boyd, of Mingo Junction, 19-year-old Arnoldo Moreno, of Dillonvale, and 20-year-old Jordan Robinson, of Bloomingdale, are in custody for questioning.

Newcomerstown Police Chief Gary Holland explains they believe Cabbage attended a party at another home on Tuscarawas Avenue about 11:30pm and the shooting occurred about 4:00am on Monday.

Search warrants were executed at the “party” residence, and Holland notes items were collected at the scene in connection with the murder.

No further information is being released as the investigation continues.
