Mary Alice Reporting –
Three men have been arraigned following their arrest related to a Tuesday evening robbery.
The New Philadelphia Police Department was notified around 5:45pm by someone stating they had been robbed of an unknown amount of money.
Police Chief Mike Goodwin says that, during their investigation, they learned the holdup had involved a machete and that the suspects were in a home in the 200 block of Front Avenue SW.
“We surrounded the house with road units until we were able to get a search warrant because the individuals were not coming to the door as we were knocking on it and calling for them to come out.”
After the search warrant was obtained, and the suspects remained uncooperative, the SRT team was activated.
“They ended up making forced entry into the residence and took two individuals in custody. There was a third person, he was arrested outside of the house prior to the units going into the house.”
19-year-old Justin Brill, 40-year-old Richard Hernandez, and 38-year-old John Williams are charged with complicity and robbery. All are being held in the Tuscarawas County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
