Michaela Madison Reporting

(Wednesday, October 11th) The New Philadelphia Fire Department is reminding the public the deadline to place memories in a time capsule is approaching.

Fire Captain Jim Sholtz says for $20 residents can put almost anything in them as long as it doesn’t contain batteries or flammable liquid.

“It’s a 9-inch by 11-inch envelope. They can put in pictures of their family, they can put in a small flash drive with all of their family pictures in it or audio recordings that they want to tell their kids or their grandkids.”

He says envelopes can be dropped off at the fire station until Thursday, October 12th at 7:00 p.m.

The time capsule will be sealed during the fire departments annual open house that night.
