Tuscarawas County Sheriff Orvis Campbell has officially resigned his membership to all committees within the Tuscarawas County Democrat party.
Sheriff Campbell pulled his petition to run for re-election and intends to run as an independent candidate next year for the office of Sheriff.
He cited his belief in the importance of being independent while serving all people in Tuscarawas County as the reason for his decision. The Sheriff also expressed his concern regarding the current divide in politics.
Sheriff Campbell says if elected, he promises to serve the members of both parties and independents to the best of his ability.
