Twila Eileen Scott, 69, of Dover, formerly of New Philadelphia, passed away on April 10, 2017 at New Dawn Retirement Community in Dover, surrounded by her loving family. Born November 24, 1947 in Barnhill, she was a daughter of the late Dean William and Lucille Elizabeth (Weaver) Mizer.
Twila was the valedictorian of Midvale High School’s class of 1965 before attending Kent State University Tuscarawas. She worked as the secretary for Associated Radiology in Dover and as a home health aide for Better Home Healthcare. She was a longtime member of Roxford United Methodist Church.
On September 5, 1970, she married James William Scott who survives her. She is also survived by children, Jill (Robert) Mason, Tom (Michelle) Scott, Kathy (Mark) Burgan, and John (Beth) Scott; grandchildren, Marissa, Josh, Micah, Nathanael, Abigail, Mary, Hannah, Amelia, and Leanna; siblings, Barb (Jeff) Davis and Gary Mizer; former sister-in-law, Kay Mizer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pastor Ron Heasley will officiate services for Twila at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 14, at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison, followed by interment at Dover’s Ridgecrest Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
