(Wednesday, October 11th)  Two men suspected of planning to abduct a woman who helped send their friend to prison, are now behind bars.

Wayne County Sheriff’s Captain Doug Hunter confirmed that on Tuesday, two known sex offenders were arrested following a traffic stop.

“The driver of the vehicle, he was wearing what I would describe as a makeshift police uniform. [He] had a badge and had the word ‘police’ on the front of the shirt and had the American Flag on the shoulder.”

Captain Hunter explained that deputies spoke with the passenger and learned the two were planning to go to Wadsworth where they intended to enact a citizen’s arrest of a woman that testified against one of their friends.

“It appears that a very sinister crime may have been averted by this simple traffic stop. We only can guess what may have happened if these two individuals would have arrived at the home of this woman.”

The two men were booked into the Wayne County Jail on a variety of charges including driving under suspension, a parole violation and impersonating a peace officer.
