Nick McWilliams reporting – Coshocton County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an incident between two semi-trucks at the intersection of U.S. 36 and State Route 751.
41-year-old Tobias Hershberger exited SR 751 onto U.S. 36, failing to see 48-year old Jack Connor from Pennsylvania.
Lieutenant Dean Hettinger says that deputies do not believe speed caused the incident.
“At this time we don’t believe that speed is a factor in this crash. Of course, I guess speed is always a factor, but, no excessive speed was a factor in this crash. We believe [Hershberger] entered the intersection and did not see the truck coming.”
Connor was extricated from his vehicle before being flown to Akron in MedFlight, while Hershberger was taken to Coshocton Regional Medical Center.
The condition of both men has not been released at this time, and Hettinger says deputies are investigating seatbelt usage.
West Lafayette Fire Department and Coshocton County EMS, as well as the Ohio Department of Transportation, assisted the sheriff’s office on scene.
