Virginia “Ginny” Geib, 91, of Sugarcreek, died Wednesday, September 13, 2018 at Walnut Hills Nursing Home following a period of declining health. She was born March 6, 1927 in New Philadelphia to the late George and Mary (Popa) Dragich. She worked as a clerk for Village Drug Store at Sugarcreek for over 40 years, was Women’s State Champion Trap Shooter one year and enjoyed Trap Shooting for many years. She enjoyed shopping and working in her gardens and was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Sugarcreek.
She was married to Albert Geib, Jr. on November 30, 1946 and he died October 16, 2011. She is survived by her children; William “Bill” Geib of Dover and Diane (Randy) Olinger of Sugarcreek and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Mary, Victor and Margaline.
Services will be held on Monday, September 17, 2018 at 12:00 PM (Noon) at the First United Church of Christ in Sugarcreek with Pastors Earl Rogers and Sharman Hartson officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 11-12 prior to services at the Church. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
