<p>Mary Alice Reporting:

(Tuesday, April 9th) April is National Child Abuse Prevention month and the community is asked to get involved.

Tuscarawas County Child Advocacy Center Director Vanessa Stergios explains throughout Ohio wearing blue this Wednesday is a way to be aware of child abuse.

“The goal is to really get everyone to see that they can do their part. It takes a community to overcome the effects of child abuse and to protect children. It’s just a way for the community to be able to say in a very easy way that I support these efforts and that child safety is important to me.”

Pinwheels were placed at the Tuscarawas Courthouse representing 1,784 calls made to child services in 2017.
