“Together Again”

William Albert “Bill” Hilliker, 85, a lifelong Twin City resident, died at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia on Sunday, November 19, 2017. Born May 15, 1932 in Dennison, he was a son of the late William Lewis and Florence (Lash) Hilliker. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Alma (Watson) Hilliker, and his younger brother, Robert Hilliker.

Bill is survived by his sister, Jane Ann (Rod) Jarvis; daughters, Cheryn (Michael) Ledford, Barbara (Ray) Askea, Stacey (Robert) Craig and Jolene (David) Page; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Betty Watson Vann.

A 1952 graduate of Dennison High School, Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. In 1989, he retired from the East Ohio Gas Company where he had begun his career in 1955. Bill actively volunteered at Trinity Hospital Twin City several times a week and asked to be called out sick only when he was hospitalized last week. Bill loved children and had a special connection with every one of his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He will be missed.

Rev. Mark Unrue will officiate his funeral service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 25, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. He will be interred with his wife in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Hospital Twin City and Community Hospice.
