William J. Stutzman, 96, of Sugarcreek died Friday, May 18, 2018 at Oak Pointe Nursing Home in Baltic.
He was born October 20, 1921 in Middlefield, OH to the late Jonas E. and Amanda (Byler) Stutzman. He served as Minister at various churches in Indiana and Ohio since 1957, was involved in evangelistic work both in the States and in Haiti and was a member of the Light of Truth Mennonite Church in Wilmot.
He was married on March 6, 1941 to the former Sarah Hostetler who died on July 6, 2009. He is survived by his children; Lydiann “Ann” Stutzman of the home, William (Mary Ann) Stutzman, Jr. of Goshen, Indiana, Mary (Aden) Miller of Sugarcreek and Joseph (Dorothy) Stutzman of Goshen, Indiana; 8 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife; he is preceded in death by his son; Eli Stutzman, daughter-in-law; Fern Stutzman, 2 sisters; Barbara and Agnes and 2 brothers; Jake and Dan.
Services will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the Light of Truth Church in Wilmot with Pastor Paul Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday 6-8 PM and Monday 2-4 and 6-8 PM all at Sharon Mennonite Church in Sugarcreek. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
