On Saturday, at 7:16 pm a Coshocton County Sheriff’s deputy clocked a silver Honda traveling at 70 mph in a 55 mph zone heading west on US 36 near CR 495.
The deputy attempted a traffic stop but the vehicle continued westbound at a high rate of speed. The vehicle turned onto CR 23 heading north in an attempt to evade law enforcement.
The chase continued until the vehicle failed to make a turn and the driver lost control going off the roadway and coming to rest in a ditch.
The driver was identified as Makayla Roberts, 19, from Coshocton.
Roberts was charged with fleeing and eluding a peace officer, underage possession of alcohol, cited for the speed violation, stop sign violation, and failure to control.
