Mary Alice Reporting – A man who decided to flee from law enforcement and was rescued from an icy creek was sentenced for failing to comply with the order of a police officer.
The February chase began with Dennison Police as the vehicles traveled onto Eastport Road, with Glenn Skinner crashing and fleeing on foot. The Tuscarawas Sheriff’s Office assisted with a K9 tracking him on the ice-covered Stillwater Creek. Skinner was ultimately found unconscious on top of the frozen water.
At Tuesday’s sentencing, his prison term was suspended in favor of two years of community control sanctions that include successful completion at SRCC, says Assistant Prosecutor Scott Deedrick.
Restitution was amounted to $1,300 for the motor vehicle and included was a three-year license suspension.
Skinner has been on probation from two other cases.
