Nick McWilliams reporting – The New Philadelphia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported a fatal crash outside Gnadenhutten early Saturday morning.

The crash was reported around 4 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 36 and State Route 416.

A 34-year-old woman from Newcomerstown was southbound on 416 and failed to stop at the intersection, traveling across 36, and striking a guardrail.

Her vehicle overturned down an embankment, and she was ejected. A seat belt was not in use at the time of the crash, and troopers believe alcohol factored into the incident.

She was eventually transported to Trinity Hospital but was pronounced deceased.

Her identity has not been revealed at this time, pending next of kin notification.

Troopers were assisted by Arrowhead Fire and EMS, Uhrichsville EMS, the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office, and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
