Nick McWilliams reporting – The Tuscarawas County Republican Party is looking for candidates to fill in as mayor in Dover.

Following the suspension and eventual ban placed on former Mayor Richard Homrighausen due to theft in office, the seat is currently filled by President of Council Justin Perkowski in the interim.

By Ohio law, the seat must be filled by a candidate selected by the party of the previously elected mayor.

The party is accepting applications for interested individuals who live within Dover city limits and are registered Republican voters.

The term runs through the end of this year.

Resumes must be sent to the Tuscarawas County Republican Party, P.O. Box 542, Dover, Ohio 44622, or emailed to hq@tuscrepublicanparty.com.

The deadline is February 1st. Candidates will be interviewed on February 7th at 7 p.m. at party headquarters at 1053 State Route 39 in New Philadelphia. Questions can be directed to (330) 343-6131.
