Nick McWilliams reporting – Residents can roll up their sleeves and help others during an upcoming community blood drive.

Buckeye Career Center is hosting the drive July 18th from noon to 6 p.m. in the Joe Carlisle Café.

Adult Educator Director Steve Rippeth and Intro to Nursing Alumna Kaylee Taralla spearheaded the event, in partnership with the American Red Cross.

The career center hopes to hold more drives in the coming months to assist with ongoing blood and blood-product shortages.

Students in the nursing programs from Buckeye and Kent State University Tuscarawas will be on hand assisting throughout the day.

Starbucks will provide refreshments, and every donor will receive a small gift from the Red Cross for donating.

Appointments can be made online at www.redcrossblood.org or by 1 (800) 733-2767, but walk-ins will still be welcomed.
