Mary Alice Reporting – Deemed as a “National Champion” a Buckeye Career Center student earned another recognition at the local level.

Enrolled in BCC’s Computer Technology/Network Systems program Xavier Pittman, from Claymont, placed at the Business Professional of America Leadership Conference (BPA), which was held in Dallas, Texas.

At the Tuscarawas County Board of Commissioner’s meeting, a certificate of recognition was presented as Pittman won first place in the Computer Networking Competition.

“All in all, it was essentially just typing, reading, typing. Figuring out where to look and where to go for information. It was a lot of very little things but it’s all about being able to work quickly, be able to handle pressure well, because if you can’t handle the pressure you’re just going to flounder.”

The junior placed at the local regional competition before also placing at state, to qualify him for the national stage.

In the Commissioner’s recognition, the document noted that Pittman has “proven to be a very strong individual and leader” as he represented his community, the county, and the state of Ohio at the BPA conference
