Mary Alice Reporting – A few adjustments were made last year for polling place and the Tuscarawas Elections Board met to approve locations for the upcoming election.

A few changes occurred last year for safety measures after a church was hesitant to have a large number of people through their doors at that time.

Election Director Gail Garbrandt says the polling precinct of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, in Newcomerstown, was moved to Medi-Wise Pharmacy as a temporary location.

“The board voted to make that a permanent location. All of the Newcomerstown precincts, in addition to Oxford Township, will be voting at the Medi-Wise Pharmacy building on W. State Street, in Newcomerstown.”

The second location change was at Roxford United Methodist Church and the difference was moving the polling place from the actual church to their Family and Life Center, which was approved moving forward.

The next Tuscarawas County Board of Elections meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 2nd at 5 pm.
