Nick McWilliams reporting – Residents interested in a career in law enforcement can apply to become an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper at the Cambridge Post.

Applicants must go through a selection process to be admitted as cadets, which includes a physical and written test. Selected applicants will be admitted to the High Patrol’s Training Academy in Columbus for a six-month course, which will be paid.

Subjects of study include state law, crash investigation, human relations, firearms training, self-defense, arrest techniques, and more.

To be eligible, residents must be 21 years or older at the time of graduation from the academy and must be entered before turning 40. Only highly-motivated and dedicated individuals will be selected to serve.
