Charles Earl Davis Jr., 90, of Gnadenhutten went to be with the Lord Saturday afternoon of August 21, 2021, under the care of Community Hospice at the Truman House in New Philadelphia.

Charles was born in New Philadelphia on December 31, 1930, to the late Charles E. Sr. and Bessie (Bland) Davis. He graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1948 and then joined the United States Air Force for four years. Shortly after discharge, Charles married the late Ruth Stuckey on October 4, 1952. They spent sixty-three years together before her passing on August 30, 2016.

Once out of the military and married, Charles found a job with Gradall Industries in New Philadelphia in February of 1953 and worked as a manager of computer operations. He spent forty years there before retiring in April of 1993. Charles enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing softball with different teams around the area, and being a member of the Uhrichsville Foursquare Church.

Surviving are two sons: Richard Davis of Uniontown and Fred Davis of Gnadenhutten; three grandchildren: Morgan Davis, Jaclyn Davis, and Ryan Davis; three great-grandchildren: Jadyn, Micah, and Norah; and a special neighbor Carol Kreinbihl.  

Along with his parents and wife, Charles is preceded in death by a son Jeffrey Davis, a daughter-in-law Lori Davis, and two brothers Richard and Robert Davis.

Services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Koch Funeral Home of Gnadenhutten with Rev. Tom Klaserner officiating. Burial will follow at the East Avenue Cemetery in New Philadelphia. One hour of visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.
