Mary Alice Reporting – It’s the time of giving and helping families, something two separate entities did through food donations.

The Claymont Middle School, under the organization of the National Junior Honor Society and Advisor Mr. Cozart, collected almost $900 and thousands of canned food items from students and staff. This giving-back initiative will benefit the Twin City Food Pantry. The Service Center will be open this week on Wednesday night from 5 pm to 7:45 pm and Thursday from 8 am to 12:45 pm. Anyone with questions can also call them at 740-922-6276.

Staying in the Twin City area, the Dennison Fire Department and Smith Ambulance, in conjunction with Share-A-Christmas collected monetary donations of almost $6,000, which was then used to purchase food. Boxes were then packed and the event assisted nearly 300 families.
