Mary Alice Reporting – In the wake of a large-scale recall for Jif peanut butter products, other companies have also recalled items that contain the spread.

The safety alert was issued due to Salmonella illnesses and a few hospitalizations, in multiple states, linked to the peanut butter.

Among the recent recalls is from the Coblentz Chocolate Company, of Walnut Creek, for select peanut butter products, sold between November 12, 2021, and May 21, 2022, with a specific lot number of 1315-2140. Items under the local establishment’s recall include their milk chocolate peanut butter cup, fudge sampler, peanut butter cluster, and assortment boxes.

Fresh Del Monte has also pulled several items with a “best if used by date” on or before May 30, 2022, and this applies to many snack packs with peanut butter present.

Another company, Garden Cut, also issued a food safety alert for products distributed in several states, including Ohio, with specific expiration dates from May 25th through June 7, 2022. These products are the sweet and tart apple wedges with peanut butter and also the celery bites with peanut butter packs.
