Mary Alice Reporting – Six individuals successfully turned in an application to be named as the City of Dover’s interim Mayor ahead of the May 10th deadline.

A committee was formed with the sole purpose of narrowing down the applicants to two names and then Tuscarawas Probate Court Judge Adam Wilgus will make the final decision.

The applicants include Orliage Byrom, Robert Coburn, Jim Devney, Shane Gunnoe, Robert Mueller, and Matthew Paxton.

The next step in the process will be for committee members to schedule interviews with the individuals. Once the final two candidates are named, Judge Wilgus will then hold his own interviews.

The need for an interim Mayor for Dover follows Richard Homrighausen’s suspension amid a criminal theft in office complaint. He has also filed two civil action complaints against the City of Dover.
