Strasburg fire crews and surrounding departments were dispatched to 7003 Winfield Strasburg Road late Tuesday night.

The initial call came in at around 9:53 p.m. for a confirmed structure fire at a single-story dwelling with firefighters making an initial attack upon arrival.

Strasburg Fire Chief Steven Laskey explains the fire was coming from a backyard storage shed.

“Seemed to be a 15 by 20 shed at the back of the property, about 30 feet from the home and any other buildings. We had some access problem, a fence with no gates, but we managed that and had the fire under control in a short amount of time.”

The call was cleared at 11:12 p.m., and responding units for additional aid based upon the initial call included Wayne Township, Sugarcreek, Dover, and Bolivar. The cause is currently unknown at this time and no one was injured.
