David E. Faircloth, 78, of Uhrichsville, Ohio passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at Summa Akron City Hospital in Akron, Ohio, after a brief illness. Born December 25, 1942 in Greensboro, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Clarence Edward and Ruby Janet (Bussell) Faircloth.

David was a 1960 graduate of Harmony High School before attending the Rowan County, North Carolina Police Academy which prepared him for his long career in law enforcement. A resident of Uhrichsville since 2008, he had previously lived in Houston, Texas for 25 years where he served as a deputy sheriff. Locally, he was employed by OSS Security Ohio at IMCO and was a volunteer for Community Hospice. He loved to fish, enjoyed watching NASCAR, and was Baptist by faith.

He is survived by his children, Mark (Angie) Faircloth, Sandra (Mike) Gregory, and Teresa Pittman, all of Statesville, North Carolina; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; his nephew, Michael (Kandice) Rupe of Bolivar, Ohio with whom he was very close; and three great-nephews, Hunter, Loagen, and Colden Rupe of Bolivar, Ohio . In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda, and sister, Linda Rupe.

According to David’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, OH  44663.
