David N. “Trucker Dave” Yoder, 62, of New Philadelphia, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton following a brief illness. He was born in Baltic on October 15, 1958 to the late Nelson and Mary Ann (Yoder) Yoder and was married on October 18, 2013 to Rhoda Schlabach. She survives. 

He was a truck driver most of his life and enjoyed the many people he met while hauling livestock. He was a member of New Pointe Community Church in Dover. He loved to go horseback riding, which he did many times in Missouri over the years. He was a staunch Cleveland Indian’s fan.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Joseph (Michelle) Mast and Brian (Dez) Mast both of Sugarcreek and Martha (Woodrow) Ohler of Midvale; stepdaughters, Rachel (Pat) Kaufman of Berlin and Melissa (Koby) Froman of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Jordyn, Cade, and Cole and was looking forward to the arrival of a granddaughter in December; brothers, Jonas (Betty) Yoder and Andy (Nettie) Yoder; and sisters Sara Yoder and Clara Yoder.

Private Services for Immediate Family will be held on Tuesday with Pastor Joe Schulz officiating. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 4-7 PM at Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek with social distancing being observed and masks being required.
