The Dover Fire Department is investigating the cause of a barn fire that broke out Wednesday morning.

Units were dispatched at around 2:40am to 1780 Dummermuth Road, in Dover Township, for the blaze.

Captain German notes that, when firefighters made it to the scene, they saw the 30 by 40 pole building that was well involved.

“The roof had already burnt off of it and contents and walls were already consumed. They lost two goats, some hay, feed, and tools that were in there. There were no injuries reported.”

The fire was easily extinguished and under control within 10 minutes.

The incident is under investigation to determine a cause.

Assisting department’s included New Philadelphia, Sugarcreek, and Bolivar, along with Smith Ambulance.
