Civil War Roundtable

The Tuscarawas Valley Civil War Round Table will meet on Thursday, March 13 at 6:30 PM in the Community Room of the Dover Public Library, located at 525 N. Walnut Street in Dover. The featured presenter will be Jon-Erik Gilot, who will present: “An Army Marching Tonight Must Be Made up a Damned Set of Fools”: The Battle of Philippi.” This presentation examines the June 3, 1861, Battle of Philippi, (West)Virginia, the first significant land “battle” of the Civil War and the opening stages of George B. McClellan’s Western Virginia campaign. The mission of the Tuscarawas Valley Civil War Round Table is to educate the community about the American Civil War, to preserve Civil War heritage and to remember those who struggled for their cause.
