Community Hospice 12th Annual “You’re Not Alone” Youth Camp
July 27 - July 30
Community Hospice will host the 12th Annual “You’re Not Alone” Youth Camp to youth ages 7 – 17 who are suffering from losing a loved one. The one-day camp will be offered July 27-30, with the older group (12-17) on Tuesday and Thursday and the younger group (7-11) on Wednesday and Friday. Youth are encouraged to sign up according to the day corresponding to their age at the time of camp. To comply with COVID-19 precautions, they have limited the camp’s capacity to 10 youth per day. Thanks to community support and sponsors, this camp is free of charge. The camp runs from 8:30 AM – 4 PM each day. Campers gain confidence, build social skills and express themselves. A bereavement care staff member assesses all youth who want to participate in camp. This allows the counselors to help build rapport, gain a unique understanding of the youth’s needs and provide the best possible support plan for a positive camp experience. Light breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided. The camp’s theme is “Under Construction”. Activities include an art project, music, scavenger hunt, water games, yard games and a memorial keepsake. They ask that campers dress according to the weather. The camp will take place at the outdoor pavilion at the Community Hospice Truman House, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia. Application packets and more information can be obtained by contacting Kelsie Gunnoe, Bereavement Care Coordinator at (800)-947-7284 or email: email@example.com. Spots are limited to 10 youths per day.
