This event offers volunteers from area businesses and organizations the opportunity to spend a morning providing spring clean-up services for historical attractions and nonprofits throughout Tuscarawas County. The annual “Day of Caring” serves as a great team-building activity for management teams and employees\, so any local company or organization that would like to put together a volunteer team is encouraged to participate. The United Way is still seeking volunteer groups for this year’s event. Chapel Methodist Church invites you to their special events leading up to our Easter Celebration. starting with our Maundy Thursday observance on April 2\, 2026\, at 7:00 pm with the re-enactment of The Last Supper. You are also invited to the annual Easter Egg Hunt that will be held on Saturday April 4\, 2026\, beginning at 11:30 AM with a lunch to follow. Then\, you’ll want to be sure to join us on Easter Sunday April 5. We will begin with an Easter Sonrise Service outside (weather permitting) at the 3 crosses next to the church at 6:45 AM\, followed by a great breakfast prepared by the men of the church at 7:15 AM. Sunday School for all ages will begin at 9:15 followed by our Resurrection Celebration in the sanctuary at 10:30 AM. Prairie Chapel Church is located at 45494 CR 23 right off of US 36. The series will be held every Tuesday during the month of April. Each program will begin at 6:30 PM in the community room at the library\, located at 525 N. Walnut Street. Storyteller Chris Hart will kick off the series on Tuesday\, April 7 when he tells us about the Postboy murder\, when\, in September of 1825\, a young mail carrier was ambushed and killed just south of Newcomerstown. Hart will portray the mailman’s traveling companion who was falsely accused. He will recount his efforts to prove his innocence and the massive manhunt that led to justice being served. Experience a cinematic celebration of steam history with a screening of the 1973 adventure-drama Emperor of the North\, a film prominently featuring the museum’s very own No. 19 locomotive. The evening begins as the museum opens at 6:30 p.m. for evening guests. At 7:00 p.m.\, No. 19 will depart from the Visitor Center Depot for a short\, exclusive ride to the roundhouse. At 8:30 p.m.\, guests will settle inside the roundhouse for the movie screening\, popcorn and drinks will be available for purchase. Walnut Street. Jeanette Speedy\, crafter and library patron\, will lead the session. Participants will make several decorative holders for small notes that they can give to the cherished women in their lives. All supplies will be furnished. Registration limited to 12 participants. Every Thursday morning from 10 – 11 am for four weeks from April 2nd – April 23rd. Kids will learn interesting facts about the weather! The program is geared toward children 3 – 5 years old (but a little younger and a little older are welcome as well!) This is offered free of charge with the support of The Schooler Foundation and The Ohio Arts Council. Space is limited! Registration is required and is open now. You may sign up by filling out the form at jhmuseum.org/preschool or by calling them at 740.622.8710. They hope to see you there! The JHM is located in Historic Roscoe Village at 300 North Whitewoman Street\, Coshocton.
