The goal of this innovative 12-week program is to educate\, motivate\, and inspire people to make the lifestyle changes necessary to achieve overall wellness and lead happier\, healthier\, and more productive lives. The 60-minute classes will be held every Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 6:30 PM in the community room at the Dover Library. Participants may choose to attend in person or virtually. Dr. McKnight will address such topics as customized nutrition and fitness plans\, stress management\, cardiovascular fitness\, food labels\, flexibility and strength fitness\, disease prevention\, and healthy aging. Dover Public Library will participate in the celebration of this important milestone in our history by offering monthly programs that highlight the unique contributions of Ohio and Ohioans throughout the years. The first program in this year-long celebration will be held on Wednesday\, January 21 at 6:30 PM at the library\, located at 525 N. Walnut Street. The program is titled “A Fort Beneath Our Feet: The History and Future of Fort Laurens\, 1778-2028.” Jonathan Brewster\, project director and lead archaeologist for the Fort Laurens 250 project\, will speak about the history of the fort and give an overview of the current rehabilitation project. He will then focus on what was found in the 2025 archaeological field season. Upcoming programs include a book launch about the history of manufacturing in Tuscarawas County\, a concert by Celtic Rush\, a program about Superior Clay Corporation\, a program about siblings who served in World War II\, and a cemetery walk. Registration is open now! This early-morning trail run/walk invites participants of all ages to experience the beauty of nature while supporting conservation and nature education in our community. Participants can choose from a timed 10K or 5K trail run/walk or bring the whole family out for the One-Mile Fun Run/Walk. In addition to the races\, a variety of Earth Day and family-focused activities will be available on site throughout the day. This year marks the 9th annual Run Wild and Earth Day Celebration\, which typically attracts more than 150 runners. Proceeds from race registration directly support The Wilderness Center’s conservation initiatives and educational programming. \nRace Schedule: \n\nOne-Mile Fun Run/Walk: 8:30 a.m.\n10K Run/Walk: 9:00 a.m.\n5K Run/Walk: 9:10 a.m.\n\nAll registered participants will receive a high-quality race t-shirt (one per participant)\, post-race snacks and drinks\, and eligibility for awards. Doors open at 5 pm\, Dinner at 5:30 pm and Race starts at 7 pm. $25.00 per ticket – Dinner- Iced Tea/Lemonade/Coffee; $20.00 to buy a horse and name it – become an owner! Before each race\, attendees can place their bets for just $2 per bet. There will be 10 races plus a special 11th Auction Race. The winning horse in each race will receive a prize. (100 horses to sell); Sideboards – Basket Raffle – 50/50 – 2nd chance drawing. Cash Bar available. Adult friendly event. This event supports Grant Kindness\, an organization dedicated to promoting compassion\, kindness and awareness throughout the community. This is a Fundraiser for  Suicide & Bullying Awareness.
