They are now ready for their forever homes!!Get your application in before September 5 if you want to adopt at our Puggapalooza. Dog Adoption Application – Tuscarawas County Humane Society\n \n\n \nOn July 14\, 2026\, Tuscarawas County Humane Agent executed a search warrant at a property in Sandyville after receiving reports of deplorable living conditions and a large number of dogs living on the premises. \nNothing could have prepared the staff and Humane Agent for what was found. \nThe conditions inside the home were unimaginable\, and every room seemed to reveal even more animals. Just when we thought we had found them all\, there were more. \nWith the assistance of the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office and the Tuscarawas County Dog Pound\, Humane Agent\, Shelter Director\, and Kennel Manager safely removed 32 dogs from what can only be described as a house of horrors. \nThis week\, the Tuscarawas County Municipal Court granted Tuscarawas County Humane Society custody of all 32 dogs. Animal cruelty charges are currently pending. \nThe road to recovery has only just begun. \nMany of these dogs arrived covered in fleas\, resulting in severe anemia and painful skin infections. Several are also being treated for eye infections and corneal ulcerations. Every single one requires medical care\, proper nutrition\, patience\, and love. \nOur team is working tirelessly alongside our veterinary partners to give these dogs the second chance they deserve. Once they have been medically cleared and are healthy enough\, they will be available for adoption so they can finally experience the loving homes they’ve always deserved. How You can help. \nCaring for 32 dogs is an enormous undertaking\, and every donation directly supports their food\, medications\, veterinary treatment\, and daily care as they heal. \nIf you would like to help these dogs on their journey\, donations can be made at http://tuschumanesociety.comor mailed to: \nTuscarawas County Humane Society1432 Tall Timber Rd. NWNew Philadelphia\, OH 44663 \nThank you for standing beside us and helping animals who have no voice. Together\, we can give these 32 dogs the future they deserve.

These programs will be held on three consecutive Tuesdays\, August 18 and 25 and September 1 beginning at 6:30 PM in the community room of the Dover Public Library\, located at 525 N. Walnut Street. The three programs are designed to give hope and a positive attitude when facing life’s unexpected ups and downs. Participants will receive helpful handouts. \nAfter Carmela Roush’s husband Tom passed\, she found herself dealing with the reality of living on her own. As a result of her experiences\, she was motivated to prepare this series of educational workshops in which she shares the information that allowed her to move forward in life. \nOn August 18\, the topic will be “Being organized can reduce stress.” Roush will talk about the benefits of organizing important documents\, such as death and birth certificates\, bank accounts\, wills and passwords. During the second session on August 25\, Roush will talk about “How to adjust when you are on your own.” Roush will give helpful suggestions and resources about how to adapt to and enjoy this new phase of life. The final session on September 1 is aptly called “You are going to need some tools…things you never thought of!”
