Nick McWilliams reporting – The Tuscarawas County Health Department Safe Communities Coalition has released details of the first quarter for traffic crashes.

From January 1st to March 31st, a total of 520 traffic incidents were reported by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, with one fatal crash resulting in one death.

Of the investigated crashes, 26-percent of drivers were not wearing seatbelts, including the fatal incident.

In a release, Safe Communities Coordinator Abbie Benton says that their staff continues to increase seat belt usage rates in the county, along with limiting distracted and impaired driving.
