Frances Mae Horvath, age 84 of Gnadenhutten, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on November 17, 2021, from complications of Dementia and declining health.  She was born in Midway, Ohio, on January 21, 1937, to Andrew Sklenicka and Gail (Dingey) Sklenicka.  Frances was the oldest of five children.

On October 31, 1955, Frances married the love of her life Donald Richard Horvath.  They were married for 64 years and had five children.

Frances retired from Harts Family Center after working there for several years.  Donald and Frances then managed Buckhorn Village Apartments in Newcomerstown for several years until they decided to make the move to live in Florida in 1999.  She enjoyed hosting family and friends on their annual Florida trips.  She was very active in her church and volunteered at the church Thrift Store.  In 2016 they moved back to Ohio due to Frances’ health problems so they could be around more family to help.  Frances enjoyed attending activities for her grandchildren as they were growing up and now attended a lot of her great-grandchildren’s activities.  She enjoyed many family picnics, birthday parties for the little ones, and sitting around the fire pit with family.  She also enjoyed spending time with her two grand dogs, Jax and Mattie.  She was a favorite of the nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband Donald (2020), a son Donnie (1992) and two daughters, Cindy (1977) and Melody (1962), two brothers James and Glenn Campbell, and a sister Carolyn Reed.  She is survived by two daughters, Joni (Rick) Hostetler of Gnadenhutten, Ohio, and Vicki (Jim) Bowen of Tavares, Florida along with a sister, Shirley Bachie of Dover, Ohio.  Six grandchildren Jason (Kelli) Hostetler of Port Washington, Barry (Marlene) Hostetler of Dover, Cory (Amanda) Roth of Uhrichsville, Casey (Gary Chowns) Turner of Georgia, Stephanie (Cory) Brandon of Morristown and Jeremy (Tesha) Horvath of Florida.  Fourteen great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews complete the family.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., on Monday, November 22, 2021 at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. in Uhrichsville, Ohio, with the Rev. Brian Flood officiating.  Graveside service will follow at Union Cemetery in St. Clairsville, Ohio.
