Mary Alice Reporting –

One person was injured in a house explosion that remains under investigation.

Fire departments and other first responders went out to Fillmans Bottom Road, in Port Washington, Thursday night at 9:39pm.

Delaware Valley Joint Fire Chief John Bourne says that the house was leveled.

“The fire was pretty much around the house, a little bit. Most of it was in the basement and there was debris, probably 200 feet away. No other structures were involved.”

He notes the single home resident was outside of the home, walking down the road when the concussion knocked her to the ground causing minor injuries. She was transported to a hospital but was released by Friday morning.

The State Fire Marshall’s Office will handle the investigation to determine a cause for the explosion that had mutual aid from Newcomerstown, Arrowhead, Warwick, and Stonecreek fire departments.
