Applications are currently being accepted for the Friends of the Tuscarawas County Public Library – Nellie Stockwell Memorial Grant in Aid. 

The $500 grant is open to area students who are planning to continue their education after high school. 

To be eligible for this grant, students must be a high school graduate from a school within the County Library’s legal service district. Schools include New Philadelphia High School, Buckeye Career Center, Central Catholic High School, Tusky Valley High School, Strasburg Franklin High School, Garaway High School, Indian Valley High School, Quaker Digital Academy, and Garaway Virtual Academy.

Applications are due June 1st and may be turned into the Main Library in New Philadelphia or mailed to Friends Scholarship Committee, Tuscarawas County Public Library, 121 Fair Ave NW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663. 

Applicants are required to provide three letters of recommendation and a letter of admission or schedule of courses for an accredited college, university, or technical school. This includes online programs as well. A typed, 500-word essay expressing why the Tuscarawas County Public Library System is important to the applicant is also required to be considered for the award. 

Late submissions will not be accepted and the winner will be notified late summer.
