One person died Sunday afternoon as they attempted to climb down Dover Dam.
The Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office noted, in the call report, at 2:44pm, two individuals were at the dam’s overlook when the man saw some coins on the ledge below.
The friend who called the situation into dispatch said that he attempted to climb down but lost his grip and fell. Prior to first responders arriving, the man died due to a sustained head injury.
